More Newfoundland :)

This time I will share my adventures through pictures (FYI - the nicer photos are from Jen's camera).

 Icebergs

 Coloured houses! Yeah, it's true!

Janessa & I on one of our outings downtown.

Brianne & Janessa! Sooo great to catch up with these ladies :)

Boats! Apparently there's a lot of these around Nfld...

Jen ignoring her child eating grass... haha, just kidding!

Sleepy baby. Out for lunch at the Hungry Heart Cafe.

Hiking - really nice walk actually!

Relaxing with Ice Caps at Signal Hill.

Sliding off her mat... she's getting more mobile every minute!

Hanging out at Signal Hill - overlooking St. John's.

Signal Hill again! I had an AMAZING time catching up with Jenny on all these adventures :)

hahaha... this makes me laugh. Unhappy baby!

And this makes me smile! Very happy baby!

Such a great visit! Can't wait for the next one! Maybe I'll see some of these folks in Grande Prairie one day :)

East Coast Adventures

I'm in Newfoundland! These last few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind, but I've finally found some time to sit down and relax.

Nfld has been excellent. It's so nice to visit with one of my best friends whom I hardly EVER get to see. And to visit with her family and meet her little girl. I've already established myself as the favourite aunt, so there's no need for anyone else to try (*cough* lisa *cough*). lol. It's nice that I've been here before so I had an idea of the places and things already. I don't even really care about the touristy things, I just want to visit with Jen and hold her daughter all day!

We've been able to go on some nice walks though, and see the icebergs melting (a big event here actually!). I also got to visit with my cousin, Brianne, and her husband who live here too. Hopefully I'll get to spend some more time with her, and my cousin Janessa too. It's great to visit somewhere when you know people and can get excited about visiting with them. I haven't seen any of these guys in ages so it's a really nice treat. It also keeps me busy and does a half-decent job of keeping me from missing my fiancé too much.

Anyway. Look at this child in the pictures below. Isn't she adorable!! I just love her. I'm so so so glad that I came out to visit her. She probably won't ever remember me visiting - but Jen will! She has these gorgeous blue eyes that she opens as wide as she can all the time. It's one of my favourite things. And I love seeing my friend as a mother - she's so natural at it! This baby girl is going to be VERY well loved.

ps - It's kind of nice that Jen goes to bed so early - gives me a chance to blog, lol. Goodnight from Newfoundland!

Moving In :)

I own a home!!! My fiancé and I bought our home in Grande Prairie and moved in last weekend. It's so exciting to own your own home! I'm so grateful for all of the help we had moving that day. All it took to move my entire apartment over was one huge cargo van, two pick-up trucks, one trailer, and my car. lol. I think everyone was surprised by how much stuff I had! We started around 10am and all the boxes were unloaded at the new place around 2pm. Then by 6pm Russ and I probably had 80% of it unloaded! We are very efficient workers.

I can't describe how nice it is to own a home! It's so great to feel like you have somewhere to settle down and to make long-term plans. I've already planned all the paint colours! It'll just be a while until we have the time and money to paint. And we have some great ideas for the decor and furniture. We just have some other things to pay for first... like weddings... and honeymoons. It's been a VERY busy month, with planning for the wedding, planning for the move, packing, unpacking, and preparing for my trips home and to Newfoundland. But I like this kind of busy :)

Here are some pics from the aftermath of our unpacking adventures:

Russ' double-car garage. He already has some car posters on the wall!

This fireplace is pretty well my favourite feature in the whole place!

Kitchen - with big windows looking out into the backyard :)

My scrapbooking supplies all ready to go in a spare bedroom.

...and a scrapbooking table of course! (Note: this will be the first room to get painted!)

Bookshelf in the rec room all filled up.

The rest of the rec room. Very empty for probably the next year or so.

My bed in the bedroom! The suitcase is getting ready for my trip home.

Office. Obviously haven't really unpacked this yet...

Back deck.

 Hottub. Enough said.

So that's it - plus three bathrooms and another guest room :) It's a little sad to have to leave the house when I'm not even quite settled in it yet, but I'm happy to be on vacation, and I know I'll be nesting for the next year, so what's the rush?! lol.

Couldn't be happier with the home :) Come visit any time!
