I own a home!!! My fiancé and I bought our home in Grande Prairie and moved in last weekend. It's so exciting to own your own home! I'm so grateful for all of the help we had moving that day. All it took to move my entire apartment over was one huge cargo van, two pick-up trucks, one trailer, and my car. lol. I think everyone was surprised by how much stuff I had! We started around 10am and all the boxes were unloaded at the new place around 2pm. Then by 6pm Russ and I probably had 80% of it unloaded! We are very efficient workers.
I can't describe how nice it is to own a home! It's so great to feel like you have somewhere to settle down and to make long-term plans. I've already planned all the paint colours! It'll just be a while until we have the time and money to paint. And we have some great ideas for the decor and furniture. We just have some other things to pay for first... like weddings... and honeymoons. It's been a VERY busy month, with planning for the wedding, planning for the move, packing, unpacking, and preparing for my trips home and to Newfoundland. But I like this kind of busy :)
Here are some pics from the aftermath of our unpacking adventures:
Russ' double-car garage. He already has some car posters on the wall!
This fireplace is pretty well my favourite feature in the whole place!
Kitchen - with big windows looking out into the backyard :)
My scrapbooking supplies all ready to go in a spare bedroom.
...and a scrapbooking table of course! (Note: this will be the first room to get painted!)
Bookshelf in the rec room all filled up.
The rest of the rec room. Very empty for probably the next year or so.
My bed in the bedroom! The suitcase is getting ready for my trip home.
Office. Obviously haven't really unpacked this yet...
Back deck.
Hottub. Enough said.
So that's it - plus three bathrooms and another guest room :) It's a little sad to have to leave the house when I'm not even quite settled in it yet, but I'm happy to be on vacation, and I know I'll be nesting for the next year, so what's the rush?! lol.
Couldn't be happier with the home :) Come visit any time!
wow oh my gosh lin its so friggin nice! I just said to my friend in the office "my best friend just bought a 4-bedroom house, its stupid!" and by stupid I mean crazy amazing! lol. I can't believe you are a home-owner, and soon to be wife. But seriously, the house looks amazing and I can't believe how organized you guys are already!
