Love Day

This year marks my third Valentine's day with the husband.
As were was thinking about our past Valentines we remembered getting all dressed up, going out for a fancy dinner with multiple delicious courses, drinking delicious wines, and being up for hours.
That's when I said, "we are never going to be able to do that again… <insert sad face>".

Ellie pretty much prevents that right now, and by the time she is old enough for us to enjoy long nights out, and not feel guilty about spending lots of money, we'll hopefully have another baby around or on the way. These kids are going to cramp our style for years to come!
But what I realized this year, is that we can still have great nights - they just look a little different. We have to plan better, and include our daughter, and still get lots of sleep, lol.
It's all part of the change. But change isn't always bad.

I started out this Valentine's Day by heading to a friend's house for a mommy's coffee/tea.
Between the four families there are six kids under the age of three.
We ate homemade treats, drank tea, gave out Valentine's and visited.
It was a great start to my Valentine's Day!

Here's a snapshot of all our kids together:

The oldest girl looked so proud to get to hold Ellie :)

When Daddy got home in the afternoon, we headed out for a nice Valentine's Day walk.
[and I got to test out the Ergo carrier!]

And then came dinner :)
Bacon-wrapped scallops, steak, potatoes, and green beans.
Aaaand, it was all prepared by my husband!
Ellie even did us a favor and played quietly by herself so we could enjoy a nice long (ish) dinner like the good 'ole days.

Plus, the husband gave me this beautiful new tennis bracelet! I'm so spoiled :)

So there you have it.
A different Valentine's Day, but a great one nonetheless.
Here's a picture of our baby girl in her Valentine's getup (well… her second one - she may have peed on the first outfit…) to give you one last smile :)

Happy (belated) Valentine's Day!

{xoxo}

    1. I've only had the ergo out that one time so far, but it was great! Couldn't feel her weight at all! I'm sure we'll have it out a lot in the springtime :)
