Happy Easter!!

"Before the Passover Festival, Jesus knew that His hour had come to depart from this world to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end."
-John 13:1

I am excited to celebrate Easter.
I am excited to celebrate the sacrifice that God made, allowing His only Son to die for my sins.
I get far too wrapped in decorating my home and baking egg-themed treats this time of year.
Time to re-focus my prayers and thanksgiving.
Although I plan to celebrate with my kids by hiding eggs, eating chocolate bunnies, and dyeing Easter eggs, I also plan to share the story of how Christ died for us and rose again.
I plan to install God's love into their hearts and plant seeds of hope and joy.
I am excited to celebrate Easter always.

He is risen indeed!
Enjoy your Easter everyone :)

St. Patrick's Day: Mommy Style

Now that my girl is a solid 9 weeks old, and thought it was time for me to get back into my old habits. Old habit priority #1: Host a party!
So I decided to invite some mommies over with their little ones on St. Patrick's Day to enjoy some coffee, some company, and some green treats!

St. Patrick's Day Mantle

It's that time again!
Time to change my mantle that is….
With a new baby in the house, I'm definitely not headed out this year to celebrate, but I CAN decorate my house for myself and my guests to enjoy!
Here's how I added some Irish flare this year:

Outpouring of Generosity

Babies must have some kind of magical power.
They convince everyone around them to love them, and they can't even smile yet!
We have definitely felt the baby love these past couple of weeks.
Since she was born we've been blessed non-stop by friends and family. Both near and far.
From handmade clothing and blankets, to toys, treats, meals, outfits, etc.
We have just been overwhelmed by the generosity of those around us.
THANK YOU!!!

It's been a HUGE blessing to to have this kind of support as we adjust to life as a family of 3!
Not having to worry about meals, or snacks for visitors, or buying clothes that fit.
Our little lady has been so spoiled already!

Thank you again :)

Surprise Baby Shower pour Moi

So the husband and I showed up at my mother-in-law's house for breakfast during the Christmas break, only to realize that there were a few extra people invited as well!
Our family members had decided to throw us a surprise baby shower, and we were definitely surprised!

Hard to share all of the fun through pictures, but here are some shots my niece took while I enjoyed the morning visiting :)

They put a ton of work into preparing the food (including a yogurt buffet!) and the decorations.
Everything was amazing!
Exactly what I would've done if I threw a shower for myself :)

Games included guessing baby foods, writing stories, and making designer diapers for our friends to model. Safe to say everyone was thoroughly entertained!

We were absolutely spoiled with beautiful gifts!

 It was a great morning.
I am overwhelmed and very thankful for the amazing women that organized it!
Husband and I are feeling very blessed :)

Home for the Holidays

I'm not quite ready to emerge from my Christmas cacoon yet.
I'm eating chocolates for breakfast, soaking up time with family that lives far away, savouring the last batch of nuts & bolts, and lounging in my pajamas with a husband that doesn't have to go back to work for a few more days.
Finally, I'm trying to take in the last couple of weeks without a baby around.
The last Christmas with just the two of us.
It was a very peaceful Christmas at home for the holidays.

Our Christmas in Photos:

Baking Christmas pies with my niece and nephew!

Visiting with family :)

Beppe learning how to text!!
(sorry it's blurry... but the memory was still worth posting!)

And then it was Christmas day.
At home. Just the two of us :)

Reading the Christmas story at home via the iPad :)

Just look at that smile!!
Inside his big box was a drill press for his garage! Inside my big box was a sewing machine!
We both got a bit spoiled this year :)

Christmas at Beppe's (Grandmas) involved funny gifts, games, and a delicious turkey :)

Puppies wearing their new Christmas scarves!
(which to everyone's surprise, stayed on ALL day!)

Merry Christmas!!
Now back to my Christmas cacoon :)
