Banff

We made it to the beautiful Banff!

The last stop on our Alberta road trip. 

The dogs obviously came with us, and they were a HUGE hit everywhere. 

Apparently people of Banff love dogs! Especially Rottweilers, although Joop even got compliments!
After setting up our campsite we headed into town to explore, shop, and buy souvenirs :)

It was a little rainy for some of the afternoon, but that didn't stop Mr. A from buying ice cream and enjoying it on the street! (that man will eat ice cream anytime, anywhere!)

Here are some snippets from our city explorations:

We spent two nights at the Tunnel Mountain campsite. 

It was a very beautiful site with mountains on all sides of us, but not as many trees and not as much privacy to our campsite as Lake Louise had.

Note the deer that visited our campsite at dinnertime in the pictures below!

We took the Banff Gondola up to the top of the world to look over the Rocky Mountains. 

The dogs were allowed to come up with us at no extra cost too! 

Beautiful breathtaking views of God's natural creation. 

I just love moments like this where I'm overwhelmed by beauty (minus the abundance of tourists).

On the way home from the gondola, we took one more small hike to see the hoodoos. 

(bonus points if you know what those are!) 

It's amazing to me how much more difficult a hike was this time around than 4 months ago. 

My body doesn't feel all that different, but apparently the 10lb. weight I'm carrying around my belly is making hiking a little more challenging. 

I was pretty tired by the time the afternoon rolled around, but I loved the scenery!

And one quick detour through Calgary, so that I could see the Calgary Tower and the Stampede grounds :) 

We also saw all the post-flood damage, which still looks extensive weeks later!

That was the end of our long weekend adventure. 

Very fun time camping and spending time outdoors. 

Hopefully we can squeeze in one more camping trip a little closer to home before the summer's over!

Roadtrip Through the Mountains

Finally a camping trip!!! 

I was soooo looking forward to this weekend away. 

A weekend surrounded by God's beautiful creations - isolated from technology and busy life. 

Had my husband, my best friend, and my puppies with me. 

What more could you ask for?

Here are some pictures from our 7 hour roadtrip from Grande Prairie to Lake Louise.

Mandatory stop in Jasper for breakfast with our cousin and a stop at the Bear Paw bakery :)

On the road again... 

We took a little walk by a stream to let the dogs free for a few minutes.
