Sunshine Gift Package

Have you ever had a friend or a family member that you felt could use some cheering up? 

I'd say most of us have... only, most of my friends and family live in Ontario, which is five hour flight away from me!
I can give phone calls and FaceTime, but can't stop by with tea and desserts to cheer them up. Can't offer to babysit for them. Can't organize a party. Can't stay up all night chatting.
This is where the ever-popular care package comes into play.
When my friend needed cheering up, I decided to send some sunshine to take away her winter blues.
 I made a "Happy" themed care package (i.e. it was all yellow, lol).

Christmas Fondue

This Christmas season has been jam packed with great visits and memories. 

Although my husband tends to get tired of the endless Christmas get-togethers and parties, I thrive on it! This year however, due to being a tired pregnant mama, we've both put the breaks on some of the Christmas parties and outings. Slowing down this holiday season is difficult for me, but necessary. Although there were still a few important events we couldn't miss out on!

Our life group at McLaurin Baptist Church, where we attend, has now had our second annual Christmas party. It was great to end the year of visiting with everyone. I feel like we've grown a lot as a group this year, and grown closer together. Celebrating the year together seems like a natural thing to do with this group of friends. 

And what better way to celebrate than with a maincourse of cheese fondue, and a dessert of chocolate fondue?!? There is no better way :)

I may have missed snapping pics of one of the babies, but there are already a total of 5 kids between these 4 married couples, and soon to be 6 kids!
Next year will be an exciting year :)

Welcome Baby #2

He's here!! Welcome John Charles!!

I was pretty sure it was a girl... I was very wrong, lol. 

My good friend's baby boy was born Aug. 17 at 5:21pm. 

8lbs. 3oz. 

Dark brown hair, blue eyes, and handsome as can be!
Now my flower girl has a little brother :) 

I wish I took this picture, because that would mean that I had met him! 

But I stole it from his proud mama's blog here :)

I'm gonna say that Russel was the winner of the epic baby predictions :) He guessed boy with blue eyes, and was only 2 oz. away! Good job! (now guess ours correctly!!)

Lake Louise

 Our roadtrip first led us to the beautiful Lake Louise, AB. 

Honestly breathtaking. 

The blueness of the water and the vastness of the scenery is just something I am not skilled enough to capture on camera!

One night in Lake Louise seemed to be enough, although there are plenty more hikes to complete there! 

Off to Banff we went for the next couple of days :)

Roadtrip Through the Mountains

Finally a camping trip!!! 

I was soooo looking forward to this weekend away. 

A weekend surrounded by God's beautiful creations - isolated from technology and busy life. 

Had my husband, my best friend, and my puppies with me. 

What more could you ask for?

Here are some pictures from our 7 hour roadtrip from Grande Prairie to Lake Louise.

We took a little walk by a stream to let the dogs free for a few minutes.

There's No Place Like Home for the [summer] Holidays

I had a very quick visit home last weekend - I'm talking 2 days of flying, and 4 days at home short. 

But it was well worth it! 

I got to see all my brothers together. I was on national television (at the baseball game!). I got to show off my baby belly to family. I visited with friends I haven't seen in ages. I said good-bye to my brother who leaves for Japan in a week. 

Lots of amazing memories in just a few short days.
