Our Little Fish

Our baby girl is four and a half months old now.
We figured she was old enough to go for a swim!
We assumed that she would like the pool, since she relishes her time in the bathtub.
We were right!
She LOVED it.
We planned for a short trip, not knowing what to expect, but we ended up staying for a couple of hours! Our happy girl was looking around, smiling and enjoying every minute!
Nap time came and went without a peep or a cry.
The photo from the top left is her very first moment going into the pool :)
The only unhappy moment was when Daddy dunked her under the water… she said that was scary. But, the sadness quickly passed.. the pool is just too much fun to be sad!

I love soaking up all of these firsts.
Now I can't wait for the seconds, and thirds… I have a feeling she is going to LOVE swimming with mommy and daddy all the time :)

{xoxo}

DIY Baby Feather Headband

Are you underwhelmed by the giant flower headbands that everyone puts on their baby girls?
Or just looking for something different?
Personally, I like the flower headbands, but I was also looking for something unique.
I'm really loving feathers these days - on cards, on scrapbook pages… why not on headbands?
Here's a quick and easy tutorial on how to make a feather headband for your little one :)

Spring Cleaning

The one thing I don't like about winter ending: the start of spring cleaning.
I think the fact that I chose, of my own free will, to clean my home from top to bottom classifies me as an adult. It is official.
Gone are the days of "No mom. I'll do it later..." and coming are the days of "No mom, I'll do it later!" lol.

H2H Challenge: A Banner Day

The Heart 2 Heart Challenge this week to was to use Banners in our designs.
I chose to incorporate some into the wedding card I was making :)
I really like the way the card turned out. White and black together are iconic for wedding cards in my opinion... plus a little splash of red - the colour of love!

1st Mother's Day

Mother's Day brought a whole new meaning for me this year!
I've always celebrated Mother's Day by honoring my Mother (& recently Mother-in-law), but this was the first year I was celebrated.

10 Things to do while Breastfeeding

I'm glad to be breastfeeding. Very happy!
But, for a woman like me that is always on the go, learning to slow down for breastfeeding can be a challenge. In fact, for me, it was nearly impossible.
Sometimes I relish the time to sit and relax and stare at how beautiful my baby is, but for the most part, I wish I was being more productive. Most of the time I'm feeling bad for sitting while my husband makes dinner (although I absolutely am doing something important too!). Most of the time I'm making lists in my head of things I can do once the baby is done feeding. Most of the time I'm grateful for that one free hand!

Comfort with Breastfeeding

Before I became a mother, I had NO idea how time-consuming breastfeeding is.
No idea!
The reason you see new mom's breastfeeding their children all over the place, is because they have to.
Fact: Babies eat all day and night. Hour after hour. No matter what.

Ellie Visits the Ocean

Little Miss Ellie got to put her toes into the sand for the first time last week :)
Our family spent a wonderful two weeks visiting family on the ocean coast of British Columbia and it was so rejuvenating to spend time with family.
Sunshine, oceans, mountains, family, and ice cream = great vacation.
