Just in case you think I haven't been doing anything in my spare time, I've added these scrapbooking photos. There. Now you know I kept busy on at least one night!

I actually had this idea to put a scrapbook out on the guest table the day of the wedding. It'll be filled with pages of Russel and I and things that we have done together. I'm really excited to put it all together! The only problem is that all my pages don't fit into one book - so now I have to pick and choose from some of my favourites. PLUS I haven't even made the engagement pages yet!! SOO many wedding decisions!

Making Popsicles :)

As a housewarming gift, a friend of ours gave us these amazing popsicle containers - plus another set. She actually filled them with a delicious fruity mix and filled a bucket with ice, and gave the whole things as a welcome present. It was such a creative idea! (I may steal it in the future....lol).

Obviously the popsicles all disappeared that night. I think Mr. A had at least 2. Since then I've wanted to use them to make my own popsicle creation. So tonight Mr. A and I got together and used a recipe I'd seen in a magazine to make these strawberry/yogurt ones (although they had more ingredients then that). They look so delicious! They're in the freezer now so I can't taste them until tomorrow. They only took about 10 minutes to make and I'm sure they'll taste good.

Fun date ideas + healthy snack = win win.

That is all. Goodnight!

New Running Goal

Haven't seen me blog about this in a while eh?! Well, that's probably because a) I haven't been blogging and b) I haven't been running. Whoops!

But now that I'm getting into the spirit of blogging again, I'm also finding the time to run again somehow. I was very pleased with myself when I got up to run earlier this week and found that I had not completely lost all of the training I had done. In fact, I ran a fairly effortless 2.5km, despite not running for ages, and despite the fact that one year ago, running 2.5 minutes would have made me want to die (not really... but it would not have been fun!).

So now, I'm looking for a goal to keep me on track to my original "Run a 5K" goal. I think I found it. There's a 5K that they have in the fall in grande prairie, called the fall classic. It's usually at the end of September but they haven't posted a date for this year yet. It's right before my wedding, so it should help me keep in shape up until the big day (YAY!).

I'm thinking that it'll be a really good challenge for me. The other part of my goal is to try and run this 5K in 35 minutes. I'm not sure if this is actually achievable for me cause I'm a pretty slow runner, but it gives me something to strive for.

Today I ran 5.4K total, BUT only ran 4.3K without walking, and then walked a few minutes and then ran the rest of the way home. The whole run took me 45 minutes, so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to cut down once I can run without stopping, but I'm hoping to push myself a bit and decrease my time.

This gives me 6 or 7 weeks to train for it, which should hopefully be enough. We'll see if I can stay motivated!!

5 Things I Miss Right Now

My man has left me temporarily. I miss him a lot even though he's only been gone a couple of days. Here are 5 random things I miss...

1. Being able to talk to him before bed
2. Hugging him, holding his hand, etc.
3. Walking and only having to control one dog (cause he has the other one!)
4. Telling him random information as it pops into my head
5. Him smiling at me

Handsome devil

I just watched the movie "We Bought A Zoo" and I think it made me all sentimental (hence this post...). I won't say anything about the movie, but if you haven't seen it, you should! Anyway, my emotions are running rampant these days. I may be a complete wreck on my wedding day - just so you all have some advance notice :)

Home Alone

I'm sitting at home alone on the Friday of the long weekend. Starting to feel bored for the first time in months.... I remember when I first moved to Grande Prairie. I knew no one, and was hardly involved in anything outside of work. I don't know what I did with my time, or how I wasn't bored every night!

Mr. A went away for a few nights. He'll be gone for another few days and I thought I would take advantage of the time by myself to relax and re-group. When he's here, I continually use every minute we have together to finalize wedding plans, and do housework, and get his opinions on things. Without him here I feel like I have all this time available to relax. Only problem is that I don't really know how to do that anymore... After sitting for five minutes I'm already making lists of things to do. Once I finished the things on my list, I sat down, watched tv for an hour, and felt bored already. How did I get to the point where I have to be busy at all times?! I don't know... Maybe this is how God is preparing me for the busyness of marriage and children down the road.

Anyway... One year ago my life was so different. No man, no plans to stay in Grande Prairie, still had the ability to relax in the evenings without making lists... And then I met the man of my dreams! We just celebrated our one year anniversary. Went out for a lovely dinner, and he gave me these lovely flowers :)

A new plant for my living room....

.....AND some gerbera daisies :)

They are so beautiful and a very nice reminder of my man while he's away working. He'll be gone until the middle of next week now. I'm left at home caring for two puppies... which surprisingly, is MUCH more difficult than watching just one puppy. Walks are much more difficult when you have two big leashes, and one dog pooping every chance he gets, and one puppy not understanding how to go around stop signs properly, and both puppies wanting to travel in different directions, and both puppies wanting to chase after other puppies, and chaos everywhere! Seriously... a walk has never been more challenging! How am I gonna do this when I have a stroller too? I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Daisy the princess....

....Joop the prince.

It's gonna be a fun weekend taking care of these puppies :) Maybe I'll even get another blog post in!
